Excerpts from the second of the zines I digitized. This one is from last summer (2010), again involving my summer experience living in a different city, this time Montreal. The main focus of this zine, however, is the love that I cultivated for an individual there. Collage, sketches, photography, ephemera, commentary.

I decided to digitize two zines I made several years ago. These are scans of pagespreads from the first of the two, made in the summer of 2008 about my experiences living in Philadelphia and visiting Latvia. Collage, drawings, and photographs.

True story of my panic attack when I went home and couldn’t find my beloved Anders Nilsen book! Nov 13.

WOOOOO I finally put together Uncertain Doe! I’ve been working on this damn thing since June and now it’s available in zine form! SWEEEET. Hand-printed linocut covers, like those I made for Acorn Dream, except printing on more textured paper made the prints kind of spotty. But thats ok!! Cause it adds to the uncertainty!! Ooooh.

I’m going to tote this zine around Boston today to see which comic stores will carry copies of it and if there are any left over I’ll post them on my shop! But you should go check out my store anyway, and buy Little Bear or Acorn Dream! Super cute and melancholy animal stories, guys!

➜ Art Spiegelman On The Future of the Book

Right on, brother! This makes me think of comic artists as the dorks of fine binding and book arts who make books whose content appeals to a wider audience.
